Whatever friction existed between the White Sox and Hall of Famecatcher Carlton Fisk was smoothed away years ago when the teamretired his No. 72, then built a statue in his honor last season inthe outfield concourse at U.S. Cellular Field.
The relationship was further solidified Saturday when the Soxpresented Fisk with a 2005 World Series ring in a private ceremony.
"I think he deserved that," manager Ozzie Guillen said of hislongtime teammate. "He wore his White Sox uniform with pride, and itwas an honor to present [the ring] to him. We were teammates andbecame friends. I know he'll wear it with pride."
