North-east youngsters did the region proud in the final of theGlobal Rock Challenge 2007.

Teenagers from Keith and Ellon Academy travelled to Grimsby forthe Northern Open Final of the music and dance event.

They were competing against 10 other schools from NorthernIreland, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Cumbria.

Ellon and their show, The Seven Deadly Sins, scooped the prize forbest lighting. And while Keith Academy did not win a prize, theschool's music teacher said taking part had been great.

Helen Mackay said: "The children were brilliant. It was a greatnight and everyone did really well."
